it was merry

I was sorely remiss in my picture taking this Christmas. But, here are a few shots of the merriment:

Peeps as an angel for the Nativity

Later in the evening, she decided to try out Mary...

We literally took Christmas down on Christmas, so I had no tree to take this in front of the day after. Not very Christmas-themed get ups, but still cute.
This is what they wore to church when we listened to Ralph and Marti's farewell speeches. They're off to Ukraine in a few days! And because we'll miss them, we made a blog for them as a Christmas gift. Complete with a tutorial on uploading pictures!
Check them out in Eastern Europe for the next 18 months.

Bring on 2011!!!

my christmas cinema

There are certain movies--"Christmas" or not--that just spread holiday cheer all over my heart. I have a bit of a ritualistic lineup, starting with Elf on Thanksgiving day. Anytime in between then and the 25th, I watch Little Women & Meet Me in St. Louis (two epic films that do no more than brush past Christmas. But still. Can Christmas be Christmas without Judy Garland singing "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas"??).

On my birthday week (which just so happens to be this week), I watch Julie & Julia. A tradition that only started last year. Because that's when the film came out. Christmas doesn't even happen in that movie, but I've linked it with the holiday because Julie turns 30 in that movie and I turned 30 last year when I watched that movie and it just filled me up with the kind of hope I think I'll need this decade.

To top things off, I watch It's A Wonderful Life on Christmas Eve. That's my favorite movie tradition of all. Dave and I usually stay up till 1am to finish it because we start late and it's a long movie. But it's my favorite. Because it is a wonderful life. And humans are basically good and kind. Especially at Christmas.

So, to all you basically kind humans that I know and love: Merry Christmas!

*What's your Christmas movie lineup??
