This week I decided to begin taking office days, or nights, rather--a few hours off after dinner for some uninterrupted writing time. So, last night I went to the library, spread my notebooks all over the table, and reveled in the desert life so strategically planted around the windowed walls.
I love this library. Especially at night, when it's actually quiet. And I discovered that this is a fantastic setup for me: no distractions but the shelves upon shelves of crinkly books and some ocotillo swaying in the breeze in the visible outdoors. Nice.

Lace, you are soooo neat. Really cool how you layed all your notes out with a (ha ha) desert vue.
I love the smell of the library. I want to make a library in my house just for the smell.
I'm glad you've found an office with a view.
I adore the library and sometime wish they had a summer camp or a retreat program held in a library. I would gladly sleep on a cot for a few weeks and just revel in reading and being near all those books.
I admire your dedication - that's the way to write a book. Are you starting something new?? (I'm still waiting to read the first one...)
Ok...Lace..it's creepy how we are on the same wave-length again!! Food is my new 6 month focus- it was a promise I made to myself after the marathon. Mark and I were complete fast food junkies...like the kind where the guy at Gandolfo's knows your order as you pull up..hee hee! Anyway, I just read a book that my old neighbors wrote called Original Fast Foods and it changed my life! They basically went off of the Word of Wisdom and created these meal plans, etc... anyway, if you want more info check out their site originalfastfoods.com You have to keep me updated if you find any new tricks to eat fast and healthy. Love ya girl!
So do you actually do all your writing by hand, with a pen and paper? So very retro of you.
so, what are you writing? Anything with an ending this time?
